Every time I am asked to introduce myself, especially in the workplace, I have a hard time.
I usually just say, that I am half-Filipino and half-Japanese.
We are three in the family, my 12-year-old daughter, my husband, and me.
I am a native Filipino(Tagalog) and Japanese speaker and, I am also fluent in English. I was born in Japan, and moved to the Philippines when I was about 4 years old, then moved back here to Japan when I was 18 years old. I am currently 30-ish something. My hobby is sketching. I like to watch TV and read books in my free time.
I sometimes say my work experiences, but nevertheless, that is where my self-introduction ends at the workplace.
Sometimes I get questions like, "Which country do you like more?"
I sometimes give them some typical answers but honestly, I don't know. I also don't know which nationality I identify myself with more. I hold a Japanese passport and I have been living here in Japan for more than 15 years but still, there are a lot of things that I am not able to adapt and accept. Although when I come back to the Philippines, there are also a lot of issues that are hard to ignore.
I was hoping I would be able to express more of myself on this blog and share interesting tidbits about the country where I live - Japan!
That being said, I have decided to start blogging again.
Welcome to Rikasphere.
